Garda Vetting Process for Working with Young People
Under the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Act 2012, anyone working or volunteering with children or vulnerable individuals must be vetted. This includes anyone involved in activities where they have regular and necessary contact with children.
It is a legal requirement that all individuals working with young people are vetted in advance. Organisations are responsible for ensuring this process is followed—it is an offence to allow someone to begin work without proper vetting.
